In the first phase ("Safe driving"), functions such as ESP optimise safety in the GL. ESP can provide support in critical driving scenarios by applying individual braking and adapting engine torque. The optimised DISTRONIC proximity control system (optional) and the standard Intelligent Light System with LED daytime driving lamps (not available on GL 350 CDI) help to reduce the risk of an accident and improve the driver’s field of vision.
